Back by popular demand, this annual event celebrates literacy, community, and civic dialogue through the shared reading of a single book. Funny, heartbreaking, and lyrical, The Distance Between Us poignantly captures the confusion and contradictions of childhood, reminding us that the joys and sorrows we experience are imprinted on the heart forever, calling out to us of those places we first call home.

The public is invited to visit the Library to pick up a copy (or to be placed on the waiting list). Print books available in English, Spanish, and Young Reader’s editions. Also available in ebook and audiobook formats.
