Traversing the Southern Silk Road

Join local resident Jean Muenchrath for a trip from Pakistan to Western China along the world’s highest continuously paved road, the Karakoram Highway.  The journey passes along the Southern Silk Road through the fabled Hunza Valley, the place that inspired James Hilton’s novel, Shangri-La, and across the Karakoram and Pamir Mountains. Our trip will also visit markets where Marco Polo once traded, the Taklamakan Desert and the Tien Shan Range known as the Heavenly Mountains.
