Date Changes

The due date for submitting proposals has been changed to Wednesday, March 22nd, 2017 at 5 p.m.

The final decision date has been changed to Friday, April 14th, 2017.

Craft Sink

The Craft Sink has been removed from the RFP due to current building structural difficulties in locating drain and perhaps supply lines in the area where the sink is required. Two or more structural I-beams occupy all the vertical space between 1st floor ceiling grid and the above floor, between sink location and drain and source tie ins.

Natural Gas Supply

An inquiry has been received regarding the existing gas lines available to supply the new fireplace outlined in the RFP. Specifically, what is the BTU load value on the pipe supplying the existing fire place (on the 1st floor), in close proximity and below the proposed location for the new fireplace. BTU load estimates have not yet been determined. To date we have learned:

• The existing line to the 1st floor fireplace is in the ceiling and is a 1″ line
• The existing line to the 1st floor fireplace originates at a 2 1/2″ line supplying RTUs on the roof about 45′ from the proposed new fireplace location. A line of this size has been located on the roof and the location where it enters the building is apparent but the 2 1/2″ line has not yet been located in the first floor ceiling, and the location where the 1″ line to the first floor fireplace joins in has not yet been located.
• Efforts to gather more information are still underway

Sound Proof Windows

The RFP requests sound proof glass for the Study Rooms and the Multi-purpose Room. A request has been made for more clarity around the sound proofing capabilities desired. Research is in-progress. So far it appears that what we are looking for is “laminated glass” to “reduce” sound. This website explains STC ratings for windows. More to come.
