SCOPE OF POSITION: The Estes Valley Library has an exciting opportunity for a 6 to12-hour per week position on its Circulation Team.  Shifts are from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm Monday through Thursday.  Responsibilities include shelving, alphabetizing, materials handling, and shelf-reading, along with checking-in items and special projects as assigned.  In addition to the various clerical tasks, special focus will be placed on customer service, assisting patrons with the Library Catalog, locating and checking out items, use of the copier, etc.  Communication with patrons of all ages in person, via email, and on the telephone in fluent English is a must.  The right candidate provides exceptional customer service and excels in a fast paced, multi-tasking, detailed team environment.  Must love change, efficiency, and take pride in keeping things ship shape!  The position requires the ability to stand continuously for four or more hours, lift 50 pounds, push/pull carts weighing up to 200 pounds, shelve items at various heights including floor level, and retrieve items from outdoor returns drops in inclement weather.  Schedule may include holidays.

The ideal candidate has attention to detail and accuracy, competency with basic office software, and a passion for customer service. Applicant will demonstrate the ability to acquire knowledge of library computer systems.

QUALIFICATIONS: High school student age 16 and older.  Fluent written and spoken English, bilingual in Spanish is a plus.  Ability to meet physical requirements.  Computer literacy.  Customer service experience and prior library experience a plus.
