Book Character Challenge: final weekend to enter Estes Valley Library > Posts > Book Character Challenge: final weekend to enter   |  print this page

In these “safer-at-home days”, let’s relieve some stress with creativity. Deadline extended: send us your photo before May 11, re-creating a character or scene from a book cover. Everyone’s a winner!

During these safer-at-home times when many of us are yearning for a creative outlet and wanting to connect with community, the Library is offering an opportunity for fun and stress relief while celebrating books and literacy.

The Book Cover/Book Character Challenge is open to everyone of all ages. Participants are encouraged to choose a book cover and take a photograph with themselves re-creating the character or characters on that cover. It may include dressing up like the book character. It may include the creative use of props from items found around the house. The Library’s first entry replicates the cover of The Call of the Wild.

This whimsical “call for photos” is a challenge—but not a competition. Everyone will be a winner. Entries will be shared in upcoming Library promotions on the website and on Facebook and Instagram.

Entries should include a copy of the original book cover. Submit your photography to Cheryl at chomanwendell@estesvalleylibrary.org anytime before Monday, May 11. Have fun with the creativity!

Note: you can send your photo as a separate file, and we’re happy to take care of the rest! For anyone who would like to create a side-by-side collage, we recommend the Pic Stitch Collage Maker app:
