For the future stability of the Library District, the Board of Trustees has adopted a Resolution of Support for Amendment B, which appears on Colorado ballots this November.
The Estes Valley Library District Board of Trustees has unanimously adopted a Resolution of Support for Colorado Amendment B, which would repeal what is known as the Gallagher Amendment.
As the Resolution states, without such a repeal, “the impact of this required Gallagher adjustment is expected to reduce the District’s tax revenues in 2021 and beyond, should the residential assessment rate decline from the present rate of 7.15% to 5.88% in 2021, as currently estimated by the State of Colorado.”
The Resolution goes on to state, “The Board further confirms that protecting all special districts against the adverse impact of the Gallagher Amendment is vitally important and necessary to enhancing and continuing to support the health, safety and welfare of all current and future District residents.”
The Library Board recommends a “yes” vote on Amendment B for these reasons. Click here to view the full Resolution
