Resources for Voters
The next election will be the Regular Municipal Election on Tuesday, April 2, 2024.
- Ballots will be mailed the week of March 11. See below for other important dates.
- Register to vote, review or change your voter registration, check your ballot status and district information, and view a sample ballot for this election at Go Vote Colorado / Vaya Votar Colorado.
Items on the ballot include:
- Five seats on the Town of Estes Park Board of Trustees, including Mayor and four Trustees:

- Our partner, the League of Women Voters of Estes Park, held two candidate forums that were open to the public, live streamed, and recorded for later viewing:
- Candidates for Trustee: The forum took place on Wednesday, March 6, 6-8 PM in the Town Hall Board Room, 170 MacGregor Avenue. View the recording here.

- Two local ballot questions:
- Initiated Ordinance 01-24 to Amend the Estes Park Development Code Regarding Development Applications
- Ordinance 02-24 Referring to a Vote an Extension of the Increase in the Town Sales Tax Rate from Four Percent to Five Percent (1A)
- Written Comments for the TABOR item must be received no later than Friday, February 16, 2024 at 5 PM

Important dates:
- Dec. 12: Town Board officially set the date for the Regular Municipal Election – April 2, 2024.
- Jan. 2: Applications available at the Town Clerk’s office for Absent Voter Address Change – for voters who will be out of town and need a ballot forwarded to a different address.
- Jan. 29: Last day to file a Write-In Candidate Affidavit.
- Jan. 29: Last day for a candidate to withdraw from the election.
- March 11: Last day for eligible electors to establish residency in the State of Colorado. Register to vote at www.govotecolorado.com, County Clerk’s office or Town Clerk’s office up to the day of the election. Ballots to be mailed the week of March 11th.
- April 2: Election Day – Town Hall (Polling Place and Voter Services) will be open from 7 AM to 7 PM.
- April 23: Swearing-in of newly elected Town Trustees at the Town Board Meeting.
Where/how to return your ballot:
- 24-hour drop box locations (ballots accepted until 7 PM on Election Day)
- Estes Park Municipal Building (Walk-Up/Drive-Thru), 170 MacGregor Ave
- Return your voted ballot by mail. Your ballot must be received by the Town Clerk by 7 PM on Election Day in order to be counted. (Military and overseas voters are the exception; more information here.)
